Christmas Charity-Donation Presentation
The members of the Executive Committee of Jakarta International Hotels Association (JIHA) recently presented the money collected during the JIHA Christmas Charity project, to 3 charities. Members of JIHA decided to contribute to protecting the environment, by not sending Season’s Greetings cards to their clients in 2008. With support from some of the most prestigious publications in Jakarta, the association instead placed prominent advertisements explaining the charitable program and wishing clients a joyful festive season and a prosperous 2009.
The money saved by not sending greetings cards has been donated to charity. A total of Rp 90 million was presented to the Sekar Paramita Foundation which provides under privileged children with free schooling, Yayasan Citra Baru that helps children and young people with cranio facial surgery and the Emmanuel Foundation which provides free food and education for malnourished children and scavenger communities.
Association Chairman Mr. Poul Bitsch announced the program last year by saying that JIHA member hotels must actively participate to protect the environment and also support the less fortunate. The Jakarta International Hotels Association (JIHA) is made up of 4&5 star Hotels in Jakarta.
