The winner of the JIHA Employee of the Year 2009
The Jakarta International Hotels Association (JIHA) recently finalized its 2nd Employee of the Year competition. Associates from 25 member hotels participated. First they were asked to write an essay in English entitled “When I last surprised and delighted a guest”.
The Association then selected 12 finalists based on their essay, for an in-dept interview by a panel of judges from the JIHA Executive Committee and representatives of PHRI.
The winner of the JIHA Employee of the Year 2009, announced on April 16, 2009, was Ms. Yuti Resani from Ritz Carlton Pacific Place, followed by Dyana Arumdhani from Hotel Borobudur Jakarta as 1st runner up and Olvie Oehmke from JW Marriott as 2nd runner up. The winner will receive professional development program scholarship at the Cornell Nanyang University- Singapore, while the 1st and 2nd runner up will enjoy a weekend holiday package in Bali.
Mr. Poul Bitsch, chairman of the association, stated that it is very important for international hotels in Jakarta to give something back to society, and this initiative is one of many that the association hopes will create opportunities and better prospects for associates in the Jakarta hotel industry.
