Conveniently located in Pondok Indah, a ritzy neighborhood in South Jakarta, Pondok Indah Mall has remained a reliable stalwart on the mall scene. Not very large in size, but with a familiar, friendly atmosphere it has always made people return regularly. The 3 storey feel is compact enough to fulfill everybody need. Of course it is not as posh as Plaza Indonesia, but this also makes people feel comfortable milling around in sandals and jeans.
The adjacent Water Park at the south side of the mall is fun for kids and the success of the climbing wall outside the exit, near the Times bookstore has been remarkable. There are always long queues. Inside the mall itself, there are a diverse range of shops and services. As a family oriented shopping mall, it offers Gramedia and Gunung Agung as the main two bookstores that kids are welcome to sit down and read in. Most daytime shoppers are homemakers that come in after bringing their children to schools nearby. By late afternoon the malls are bustling with the after-school teenagers and young professionals who begin to show up after office hours.
For food lovers, Pondok Indah Mall has Dermaga, the food court on the 3rd floor that is always packed at weekends and some more independent cafes.
